Reduction in Scope, Reduction in Size
(Scott) Building on my last post about reduction... just saw this business concept in Springwise (trends e-newsletter) about "mini-sizing" fast food. Chicago-based "Minnies" offers mini-sized hamburgers, grilled cheese, etc., bucking the super-size fast food trend.
I just found this an entertaining example of how flipping the dominant idea (or phrase) in an industry on its head can create new business ideas. I'll be stopping by Minnies next time I'm in Chicago.

Hi Scott,
Noticed that here too. We recently did a project for a pastry snacking company and indeed that's one of the packaging trends that is really predominant at the moment. The minituarisation of everthing! Ties into the way people are consuming - on the go - and the desire for a "clean eat". Also ties into the way we no longer eat 3 main meals but rather mini-meals that keep us going.
